About Taylor Seymour

Taylor Seymour is originally from Scottsboro, AL and is married to Hannah Seymour. They have one daughter, Hallie, who is 18 months old. Currently, Taylor serves as the Minister of Music and Education at Moulton Baptist Church in Moulton, AL. His desire is to share the love and power of Christ through weekly worship that is centered around Scripture and filled with the Holy Spirit. Taylor graduated from Samford University with a B.A. in Religion. In his free time he enjoys playing bluegrass music (guitar & mandolin), competition barbecue, all kinds of sports, and golfing. He has a deep love for the local church and loves the pastoral care aspects of ministry. He views his role as a pastor to equip the church members to do the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16) and to “taste and see that the Lord is good!” His passion revolves around building meaningful relationships with the people around him and using those times with them to point them to Christ and to help them serve the Kingdom.

Job Description

Associate Pastor for Worship


Principal Function:


The Associate Pastor for Worship must be able to express God’s love through music by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through song and personal witness.  He will be responsible for leading in corporate worship, managing the church’s technology, exercising pastoral care, contributing the vision casting for the church, and equipping all members of the congregation to worship the Lord through music. He must be able to teach and fulfill regular pastoral responsibilities such as visiting, counseling, and administration. He shall be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s direction and able to work with the Senior Pastor to shepherd the congregation and equip the members to worship through music.


Primary Responsibilities:


  1. Lead and teach the congregation through music used to enhance the sermons and draw congregants closer to the Lord from that worship experience.

  2. Recruit and equip members for the praise team, technology team, praise band, and choir.

  3. Teach and lead the choir/praise team in preparation for weekly services and special events, such as Easter and Christmas.

  4. Attend weekly staff meetings and help prepare for special events, such as weddings, funerals, and special services.

  5. Consult with the Senior Pastor and other staff members regarding materials, equipment, supplies and/or any other items needed to perform weekly tasks.

  6. Obtain all the copyright authorizations required by law for the music performed in public worship services.

  7. Prepare the annual budget for all the music ministry and technology requirements and needs.  Forward that budget to the Stewardship Committee for analysis and approval.  Work with the Secretary and Treasurer to administer the approved budget according to existing guidelines and policies.

  8. Oversee and maintain the church’s technological equipment and infrastructure. Consult and provide recommendations to address technological needs and issues that may arise.

  9. Assist the Senior Pastor with the pastoral care of the congregation (through counseling, visitation, administration, planning, etc).

  10. Other duties as Senior Pastor may assign.
